The Border Security Force (BSF) commemorated its 59th Raising Day with pride and enthusiasm at the Frontier Headquarters here on Sunday. The elite force, established on December 1, 1965, has earned its reputation as a stalwart guardian of the nation’s borders, said a BSF spokesperson.
“From its inception, the BSF has borne the primary responsibility of securing our International Border,” the spokesperson stated. “Over time, it has proven its mettle in diverse fields, including internal security, counter-insurgency operations, and intelligence gathering in sensitive regions like Punjab and Kashmir. It has steadfastly upheld the sanctity and integrity of our borders, both International and Line of Control.”
Reaching a milestone of 58 years of “dedicated, distinguished, and glorious service to the nation” on December 1st, the BSF celebrated its Raising Day with gusto. A vibrant cultural program and a special “barakhana” were organized for veterans and personnel stationed at the Frontier Headquarters and Subsidiary Training Centre Kashmir.
The spokesperson conveyed the BSF’s unwavering commitment to its duty: “We stand tall, vigilant, and prepared to face any challenge that may threaten the safety and security of our nation. The BSF remains a symbol of resilience, courage, and unwavering dedication to the motherland.”
The Raising Day celebrations resonated with a spirit of camaraderie and reaffirmed the BSF’s unwavering commitment to its motto: “Duty Unto Death.”
