Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that the two bills introduced by the government pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir would rectify the injustices suffered by marginalized communities for the past seven decades. He emphasized that the reservation for displaced persons would amplify their voices in the legislature.
Addressing the debate on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, Shah decried the failure to decisively confront terrorism at its inception, stating that it had forced Kashmiri Pandits to flee their homes in the Kashmir Valley. He highlighted that one of the bills aims to provide legislative representation to those who were compelled to leave Kashmir due to terrorism.
Shah firmly stated that the bills were designed to deliver justice to those who have endured deprivation for the past seven decades. He vehemently criticized the Congress for their rhetoric on backward classes, asserting that the Congress has consistently opposed the advancement of backward classes and obstructed their progress.
Shah further underscored that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, born into an impoverished family and subsequently rising to the position of Prime Minister, understands the struggles faced by backward classes and the underprivileged.
