The picturesque Mughal Road, linking Shopian district in Kashmir Valley with Rajouri and Poonch, has been closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall, officials confirmed on Saturday. Fresh snowfall at various points, especially the treacherous ‘Pir Ki Gali’ stretch, has rendered the road impassable.
DySP PC Surankote Hamid Ali Bandey confirmed the closure to GNS, highlighting the road’s vulnerability to snowfall, particularly in ‘Pir Ki Gali’ and surrounding areas. This isn’t the first closure of the year, as the Mughal Road, often considered an alternative to the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, has faced similar disruptions throughout the season.
This rewrite condenses the information, emphasizes the current closure, and avoids redundancy while maintaining the key details.
