Hundreds of Pilgrims Set Off for Amarnath Cave Shrine

The 32nd batch of Amarnath Yatris left the base camp in Jammu on Thursday morning for the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. Over 1,100 pilgrims were part of the batch, which was accompanied by tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in a convoy of 43 vehicles. 932 pilgrims headed for Pahalgam, while 266 pilgrims left for the Baltal base camp.

Over 4.3 lakh devotees have already paid obeisance at the 3888-metre high shrine since the commencement of the Yatra on July 1. The 62-day annual pilgrimage to Amarnath shrine is scheduled to conclude on August 31.
