A fire broke out in the main market of Mahore in Reasi district on Friday morning, damaging five shops. The blaze was brought under control by police, locals, and the Army’s 58 RR, the blaze damaged five shops, three of them substantially.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit, but investigations are ongoing. Goods worth lakhs of rupees are said to have been damaged in the fire.
Locals staged a protest against the lack of a fire station in the Mahore subdivision, urging authorities to set up one to prevent future fire incidents.
