Baramulla police booked two individuals, Fayaz Ahmad Kumar and Safeer Ahmad Bhat, under the Public Safety Act (PSA) today. Both residents of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, they stand accused of disturbing law and order and engaging in subversive activities.
According to an official statement, formal detention orders were obtained from the competent authority before proceeding with the PSA action. Both Kumar and Bhat have been detained and are now lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal in Jammu.
The statement further highlighted the extensive criminal records of the two individuals, stating that “many cases are registered against these persons” and their persistent involvement in “disturbance of Law & Order and subversion.” Despite their numerous past offenses, the statement added, “they did not mend their anti-national & social-activities,” prompting the authorities to take decisive action under the PSA.
