42 roads, including two national highways, were closed in Himachal Pradesh due to recent rainfall.
The state emergency operation center said that National Highway 21 is closed due to a landslide. National Highway 5 is also closed, but it is expected to be restored in 1 to 2 hours. Alternate routes are available.
The regional meteorological department in Shimla issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall, with thunder likely to occur in parts of Himachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Chamba, and Una over the next three hours. Heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kangra, and Mandi.
