In a successful operation, security forces in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir apprehended three individuals and seized a significant amount of illegal drugs, weapons, and explosives.
Acting on a tip, police and army personnel set up a trap in the Karnah area, where they apprehended two suspects carrying roughly 500 grams of heroin. Identified as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh and Tariq Ahmad Malik, both were residents of the area.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a third person, Parvez Ahmed Pathan, who was found to be in possession of three pistols, 76 rounds of ammunition, six magazines, and around five kilograms of suspected explosives. A joint raid by police and army forces led to Pathan’s arrest.
Authorities have registered a case and are continuing their investigation through questioning the suspects.
