Defying heavy rainfall, over 6,900 Amarnath pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Saturday, heading towards the sacred shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. This marks the fourth group to leave the Jammu base camp since the pilgrimage began.
Since the 38-day annual yatra officially started on July 3, approximately 30,000 pilgrims have already visited the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine. The journey commences from two main routes: the traditional 48-kilometer Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and the steeper, 14-kilometer Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
