Anantnag Police have apprehended two individuals involved in drug trafficking in separate operations, seizing significant quantities of narcotics.
In the first incident, officers from Police Station Srigufwara intercepted Faizan Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Marhama, at a checkpoint near Chenar Crossing, Sirhama. Bhat, riding a motorcycle (JK11C-0712) from Khiram towards Marhama, was found to be carrying 300 grams of cannabis powder hidden under his seat. He was arrested, and the contraband was confiscated.
Subsequently, a team from Police Station Uttersoo, conducting a checkpoint at Padderpora, Chittergul, arrested Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Padderpora. Hajam attempted to flee upon seeing the police presence. A search revealed approximately 250 grams of charas powder concealed in a polythene bag. The narcotics were seized, and Hajam was taken into custody.
