Arms Recovered in Baramulla During LeT Associate Arrest

In Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir police along with the army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles arrested a LeT/TRF militant associate and seized weapons and ammunition.

The police spokesperson informed that acting on intelligence about militant activity in the Eco Park Crossing area, a joint patrol with the army was conducted. A suspicious individual approaching on foot was spotted. The person tried to run upon seeing the security forces but was apprehended.

The suspect, identified as Shakir Ahmad Lone from Dangerpora Sheeri, was found with a pistol, a magazine, pistol rounds, and hand grenades during a search.

He reportedly confessed to having a contact with a Pakistan-based militant handler and planning an attack in Baramulla town.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law at the Baramulla police station, and the investigation is ongoing.
