The Indian Army and the local police foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday. Two terrorists were killed in the operation.
The operation began in the early hours of August 6-7, when the joint teams of the army and police engaged two infiltrating terrorists. One terrorist was killed immediately, while the other tried to run back to the LoC. He was also killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
The operation is still ongoing, and the security forces are searching the area to ensure that there are no other terrorists present.
