Baramulla Police Crack Pattan Theft, Recover ₹5 Lakh, Two Arrested

Baramulla Police have acted quickly to solve a theft case in Pattan, apprehending two suspects and recovering stolen property valued at ₹5 lakh within 48 hours.

The case began on June 3, 2025, when Mohammad Amin Dar, a subcontractor with Lumino Industries Ltd, reported to Police Station Pattan that “Dog conductor” wire had been stolen from the Mamoosa work site on the night of June 2nd/3rd.

Authorities immediately registered FIR No. 99/2025 under section 303(2) BNS and launched an investigation. Leveraging both technical and human intelligence, officers identified the vehicles involved in the crime. This led to the interrogation and subsequent arrest of Shabir Ahmad Tabardar of Singhpora and Umer Nabi Khanday of Zangam.

Following their confessions, police successfully recovered the stolen wire and seized the vehicles used in the theft. The investigation is still ongoing.
