Jammu, July 24, 2025 – Border Security Force (BSF) troopers are continuing a search operation along the International Border (IB) in the R.S. Pura sector of Jammu district today, following a suspected infiltration attempt.
BSF officials reported that the operation began late Wednesday night and has continued throughout Thursday morning. Coordinated searches are underway in forward villages, agricultural fields, and dense vegetation near the border fence.
An infiltration alert has also been issued for the R.S. Pura and Arnia sectors, leading to intensified night patrolling and surveillance. The BSF has deployed additional personnel, dog squads, and thermal imaging equipment to monitor cross-border movement. Drone surveillance is also being used to help ground troops scan difficult terrain.
This heightened activity comes amid ongoing concerns about terrorists attempting to exploit vulnerable border stretches ahead of upcoming national events and festivals. Villagers living near the zero line have been advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security forces.
While no contact or exchange of fire has been reported during the search, BSF officials stated that the alert will remain in effect for the coming days. All border outposts have been placed on maximum alert, and coordination with other intelligence and security agencies has been strengthened to ensure a robust multi-tiered defense mechanism.
This increased vigilance follows an April 22 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist attack in Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. In response, J&K Police and security forces have been aggressively conducting anti-terrorist operations targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
