“Budhuri Announces Unique ID Numbers for Srinagar Residents”

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that it will introduce a unique ID number for households in Srinagar. The ID number will help to locate addresses easily, as there are many streets in Srinagar with the same name.

The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Budhuri, said that the work on the ID project has already begun on a pilot basis in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) areas. A plate with the ID number will be installed outside each household.

Budhuri said that the ID number will also help the administration to locate any household in Srinagar. He added that next week will be observed as Digital Week in Jammu and Kashmir, and that the ID project will be one of the key initiatives during the week.

The Divisional Commissioner said that the ID number will be linked to the e-office system, which is already in place at the secretariat level. This will mean that there is no need for officials from other districts to come to Srinagar with files.

Budhuri said that the ID project will ensure transparency in the system and is an environment-friendly procedure. He added that the ID number can be used to track the progress of a file and see which clerk is currently working on it.

The introduction of the unique ID number for Srinagar households is a welcome move that will make it easier for people to find addresses and for the administration to track files. It is also a step towards making the government more transparent and efficient.
