Temperatures across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh plummeted as a fierce winter gripped the region. Several areas experienced sub-zero temperatures, with Drass in Ladakh emerging as the coldest place, recording a bone-chilling -21.8°C.
In the Kashmir Valley, Larnoo shivered at -8.2°C, while Pahalgam and Sonamarg recorded lows of -7.8°C. Gulmarg experienced a minimum of -6.2°C. Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded -4.2°C.
The winter chill also extended to Jammu, with Padder recording -4.4°C. Jammu city recorded a minimum of 6.4°C.
Ladakh experienced the most severe cold with Drass recording -21.8°C, followed by Kargil at -12.6°C and Leh at -11.6°C.
