Forest Officer Suspended for Corruption in J&K

In a swift response to tackling corruption, the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department has suspended Range Officer Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi following his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday.

Sofi, from the Khuihama Range in Bandipora Division, was allegedly caught red-handed engaging in illegal financial dealings with a contractor involved in departmental projects.

Responding to the ACB report, the department promptly suspended Sofi and initiated an inquiry as per established regulations.
