A devastating avalanche struck the Kongdoori slopes of Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday, leaving one foreign skier dead and another missing. Five other skiers were fortunately rescued and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Officials reported that the foreign skiers were not accompanied by local residents when the avalanche hit, trapping them under the snow.
Rescue and search operations are currently underway, with personnel from the Indian Army and a patrolling team from the Jammu and Kashmir administration working tirelessly to locate the missing skier.
