The Kishtwar Police, in collaboration with the Army’s 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the CRPF’s 52 Battalion, have successfully dismantled a hideout belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist Jhangir Saroori.
The hideout was located in the Paribag area of Bhadat Saroor, where Saroori was suspected to have been hiding and planning subversive activities. Acting on credible intelligence, the security forces conducted a meticulously planned operation and uncovered the hideout.
During the search operation, the police recovered two blankets, some edible items, and some personal use items from the hideout. These items indicate that Saroori had been using the hideout recently.
The entire area has been cordoned off and searches are being conducted. SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal, said that the operation was a “resounding success” in the ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism from the region.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information that could aid in maintaining peace and thwarting the designs of anti-social elements. The police department remains committed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
The dismantling of Saroori’s hideout is a major blow to the HM and a significant step forward in the fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a clear message to terrorists that they will not be able to operate freely in the region.
