A joint operation by the Army, Police, and CRPF on Saturday evening busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Wadder Bala, a subdistrict of Handwara in Kashmir.

Police said that during a search operation, the forces busted a hideout of arms and ammunition. The recovered weapons include 2 AK-47s, 1 AK-56, 16 AK magazines, 328 AK rounds, 1 pistol, 2 pistol magazines, 3 pistol rounds, 1 UGBL launcher, and 4 UGBL rounds.

A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and further investigations are underway.

This is a significant success for the security forces in their fight against terrorism in Kashmir. The recovery of such a large quantity of arms and ammunition indicates that the terrorists were planning to carry out major attacks in the region. The security forces must continue to maintain their vigilance and thwart any attempts by terrorists to disrupt peace and stability in Kashmir.
