A joint operation by the Army, Police, and CRPF on Saturday evening busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Wadder Bala, a subdistrict of Handwara in Kashmir.
Police said that during a search operation, the forces busted a hideout of arms and ammunition. The recovered weapons include 2 AK-47s, 1 AK-56, 16 AK magazines, 328 AK rounds, 1 pistol, 2 pistol magazines, 3 pistol rounds, 1 UGBL launcher, and 4 UGBL rounds.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and further investigations are underway.
This is a significant success for the security forces in their fight against terrorism in Kashmir. The recovery of such a large quantity of arms and ammunition indicates that the terrorists were planning to carry out major attacks in the region.
