After a major infiltration attempt was foiled in the Uri Sector, Lt. Gen. Ghai, the Chinar Corps Commander, visited the forward area along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday to evaluate the counter-terrorism and anti-infiltration grid.
The Corps Commander complimented the troops for their high level of combat readiness and operational preparedness. He also praised them for their successful execution of Operation Khanda, which resulted in the elimination of three terrorists on September 16.
Lt. Gen. Ghai’s visit comes a day after the Indian Army, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies collaborated to defeat an infiltration attempt on Saturday morning along the LoC in the Uri Sector, killing three militants.
