Jammu-Srinagar Highway Open to Two-Way Traffic

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is currently open to two-way traffic for passenger vehicles, according to traffic police. However, heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) are restricted to a southbound direction, from Srinagar towards Jammu.

Traffic Advisory:

  • Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline to prevent congestion. Overtaking is strongly discouraged.
  • Travel on the highway between Ramban and Banihal should be limited to daylight hours.
  • Unnecessary stops in the Ramban-Banihal sector are discouraged due to the risk of landslides and rockfalls.

Other Road Closures:

  • The SSG Road, Bhaderwah-Chamba Road, Mughal Road, and Sinthan Road remain closed to traffic.
