JK Police Arrests TRF Terror Associate in Bandipora

The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a terror associate of the The Resistance Front (TRF) in Bandipora district on Tuesday. The arrest comes on the heels of the police arresting three other TRF associates in Srinagar on Monday.

The TRF is an offshoot of the proscribed Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. The group has been responsible for a number of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent months.

The Bandipora police said they arrested the terror associate during a naka checking in Kehnusa village. The suspect was carrying one hand grenade when he was apprehended.

A case has been registered against the suspect and further investigation is underway.

The arrest of the TRF terror associate is a major success for the Jammu and Kashmir Police. It shows that the police are determined to thwart the terrorist activities of the TRF and other such groups.

The police have also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to cooperate with them in the fight against terrorism. They have urged the people to report any suspicious activity to the police.
