Two online fraudsters from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for cheating a complainant from the Kishtwar district.
Adesh Singh and Vishal Partap Singh were arrested in execution of non-bailable warrants issued by the Court.
The fraudsters made the complainant believe that they would supply him with sugar and induced him to transfer Rs. 3,25,000 to their account.
They then claimed that the vehicle carrying the sugar had broken down and asked the complainant to transfer Rs. 5,000 to the vehicle driver’s account.
The complainant realized that he had been cheated when the fraudsters refused to send him Rs. 5,000 first.
The police investigated the case and established that the complainant had been cheated online. They obtained non-bailable warrants against the fraudsters and arrested them from Uttar Pradesh with the help of the UP Police.
The two fraudsters are notorious inter-state fraudsters and are involved in a number of phishing cases registered against them in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
