Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted extensive searches at 26 houses in Kishtwar district, targeting the terror ecosystem. Among the properties raided was the home of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Mohammad Amin Bhat, also known as Jehangir Saroori. Bhat is considered the longest-surviving terrorist, having joined the banned organization in the 1990s.
The raids primarily focused on homes of terrorists operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir who are suspected of smuggling weapons across the border. These searches in Kishtwar follow similar operations conducted the previous day at 15 locations in the nearby Doda district.
