Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the 67th National School Games for football and volleyball on Tuesday, eight years after the UT last hosted the event.
Sinha praised India’s recent sporting successes, saying that they are a sign of the country’s resurgent sports culture. He also highlighted the importance of sports infrastructure and access to experts in developing sporting talent.
The LG said that Jammu and Kashmir has made a new beginning with its sports and sports culture development plan, which includes adequate infrastructure, introducing sports as an integral part of the educational curriculum, and providing opportunities to talents across the UT.
