Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad announced that the main Independence Day function will be held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on August 15, 2023. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will hoist the Tricolour at the event.
Asad also said that all arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the function and urged the people to participate in large numbers. He said that the function will be a grand celebration of India’s independence and will be an opportunity for the people of Srinagar to come together and express their patriotism.
The function will begin with a flag hoisting ceremony by the Lieutenant Governor. This will be followed by a cultural program, which will feature performances by local artists. There will also be a march past by the police and army. The function will conclude with a speech by the Lieutenant Governor.
Asad appealed to the people of Srinagar to come to the Bakshi Stadium on August 15 and celebrate India’s independence with great enthusiasm. He said that the function will be a memorable event for everyone.
