A fire broke out early Wednesday morning in the Bazipora area of Ajas village, north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Two houses, one double-story and one single-story, were significantly damaged in the blaze. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, but an investigation is still underway to determine the exact cause.
Six people were injured, one seriously, due to an LPG cylinder explosion during the fire. The injured have been taken to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
Firefighters from Ajas, Bandipora, and Hajin stations were able to control the blaze. Emergency services are monitoring the situation to prevent any further incidents.
Locals are appealing to the District Administration Bandipora to assess the damage and provide assistance to the affected families.
