Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the necessity of public cooperation in combating militancy, asserting that no government has ever condoned terrorism.
“Every government, including the one I led, has maintained a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism,” Abdullah stated, responding to inquiries about Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent directives. He underscored the importance of community involvement, saying, “Ending militancy requires taking the people along. This is how success will be achieved.”
Regarding the restoration of statehood to the Union Territory, Abdullah reiterated its importance and the government’s commitment. “Statehood is our right, and we have been promised its restoration. We anticipate this process will begin promptly,” he concluded.
