The Ministry of Railways has greenlit the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new 77.96-kilometer railway line connecting Jammu and Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This crucial step, with an estimated cost of over Rs 12.59 crore, will lay the groundwork for a vital rail link aimed at significantly improving connectivity in the region.
Northern Railway will oversee the FLS, which is expected to pave the way for future construction. This additional line is set to make travel considerably easier and more efficient for pilgrims visiting the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
This initiative is part of Indian Railways’ broader commitment to expanding and modernizing its network across the nation, especially in areas of strategic importance and high public utility.
