Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Longewala, a forward area under the Konark Corps in the desert sector, to commend troops for their successful “Operation Sindoor” and assess joint operations with the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Border Security Force (BSF).
“Operation Sindoor” demonstrated a rapid and coordinated response by the Army, IAF, and BSF across the Jaisalmer-Kutch desert region. This joint effort effectively countered enemy intentions and established enhanced operational dominance along the western front.
The operation involved swift deployment of surveillance and air defense systems, strategically positioned weapons, and coordinated civil administration support to ensure effective area control and threat neutralization. Notably, successful neutralization of enemy drone incursions was a key achievement.
General Dwivedi praised the Konark Corps soldiers, expressing “Shabash!” for their valor, dedication, and determination in safeguarding the International Boundary. He acknowledged their professionalism, high morale, and seamless execution of operational plans.
The Army Chief emphasized the Indian Army’s tradition of honor and unwavering readiness to address future challenges, reaffirming its commitment to national sovereignty and operational preparedness in a changing security landscape.
He also expressed admiration for the resilience of troops serving in the challenging desert conditions during peak summer, acknowledging their vital role in defending national objectives.
