Reasi Attempted Murder: Police Nab 4, Recover Weapons

The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested four people in Reasi district on Friday for their alleged involvement in an attempted murder.

The Incident:

  • On March 17, 2024, Katra police station received a tip that Deepak Kumar was stabbed with sharp objects in Aghar Jitto. The attackers left him seriously injured.

Police Response:

  • A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Arms Act.
  • A special team was formed under SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma to nab the culprits quickly.
  • The team used technical assistance and strategic checkpoints to track the accused.

The Arrests:

  • All four accused, identified as Sunil Sharma, Himanshu Sharma, Rohit Kumar, and Mukesh Kumar, are residents of Aghar Jitto village.
  • Police recovered weapons including a dharat, toka, and a cricket bat based on their confessions.
  • The operation was led by Inspector Nishant Gupta, SHO Katra.
