Samba Police have successfully apprehended the main individual implicated in an attempted murder case previously filed at Police Station Vijaypur. Authorities also recovered an illegal firearm (Desi Katta) from the accused’s possession.
The case originated on April 20, 2025, when Shivdeep Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh and resident of Suchani Bagla, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba, reported to Police Station Vijaypur that a group of 5 to 6 individuals, armed with firearms and harboring criminal intent, had attempted to kill him in village Rahya, Vijaypur.
Based on this complaint, FIR No. 42/2025 was registered at Police Station Vijaypur under sections 109, 307, 324(4), 115(2), 351(2), and 191(2) of the BNS (likely a local penal code) as well as sections 3/25 of the Arms Act.
The investigation, led by the SHO of Police Station Vijaypur under the supervision of the SDPO Vijaypur and the overall guidance of the SSP Samba, utilized human intelligence and technical assistance. This effort culminated in the arrest of the primary accused, Vishal Sharma, also known as Vishu and Shooter. Sharma is the son of Bishan Dass and resides in Khojipur Kheri, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. Following his arrest, a Desi Katta was recovered based on information he provided.
The investigation into this case is currently ongoing.
