Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are in their second day of searching for terrorists in the dense forests of Basantgarh, Udhampur district. The operation began after a Village Defence Guard (VDG) member was killed in a clash with terrorists on Sunday.
Authorities believe two groups of terrorists, numbering between four and six, are hiding in the area. They likely infiltrated from across the border recently.
Additional forces have been deployed to assist in the search. Security forces are using various leads to locate and neutralize the terrorists.
The operation started after police received information about suspicious activity in the area.
