Srinagar sweltered through its hottest day of the season on Sunday, hitting a high of 32.2°C, according to data shared by Kashmir Weather with the news agency JKNS.
The heat wasn’t confined to Srinagar, as other parts of the Kashmir Valley also saw elevated temperatures. Qazigund reached 33.0°C, Kokernag peaked at 31.4°C, Kupwara recorded 29.9°C, Pahalgam saw 27.2°C, and even Gulmarg experienced a relatively warm 23.6°C.
Meanwhile, the Jammu region faced even more intense heat. Jammu city baked at a significant 40.0°C, while Katra registered 37.4°C. Other areas in Jammu also recorded warm temperatures, with Bhaderwah at 31.6°C, Batote at 30.9°C, and Banihal at 30.8°C. Ladakh’s Leh offered some respite with a cooler 20.4°C.
Notably, Jammu and Kashmir has been under a spell of hot weather for the past week.
