An overnight encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district concluded Saturday morning with the killing of one terrorist. Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the Akhal forest area after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
The operation, which began Friday, saw an initial exchange of fire before being halted for the night. Authorities reinforced the cordon and dispatched additional personnel to the scene. Firing resumed on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of the terrorist.
The identity and group affiliation of the slain individual are currently being determined, and the operation remains ongoing.
