Traffic resumes on Srinagar-Jammu highway

Srinagar, October 16: Traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was restored on Monday afternoon after authorities cleared debris from a landslide in the Banihal area.

A traffic department spokesperson tweeted at 4:30 pm: “Traffic plying on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) after clearance of debris.”

Earlier, traffic on the highway had been suspended due to a landslide in the Shalgiri area of Banihal.

Meanwhile, rains lashed across Jammu and Kashmir, and snowfall was also reported in some isolated hilly areas.
