A police team from the Roundomail Police Post, led by its ICPP, apprehended a suspicious individual during a routine vehicle check at the Roundomail naka point. The person, identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Yash Paul, resident of Ossu Pakhlai, currently residing in Sambal Udhampur, attempted to hide upon spotting the police, which raised suspicion.
Upon a thorough frisking, the police team recovered 3.68 grams of a heroin-like contraband substance (chitta) from his possession.
Consequently, a case has been registered under FIR No. 197/2025, Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, at the Udhampur Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
