Preparations for Navratri are in full swing across India, with people cleaning their homes, buying new clothes, and preparing special foods. On the first day of Navratri, devotees visit temples to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Maa Durga.

During the nine-day festival, devotees maintain ritualistic fasts, recite shlokas dedicated to each goddess, and participate in various cultural and religious activities. Some popular Navratri dances include Garba and Dandiya Raas.

The 10th and final day of Navratri is celebrated as Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. On this day, effigies of King Ravana are burned to commemorate the triumph of good over evil.
