The Amarnath Yatra, which began on July 3, has already seen over 200,000 pilgrims complete the pilgrimage in the last 11 days. On Monday, another group of 6,143 pilgrims departed from Jammu for Kashmir.
Officials reported that the pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in two escorted convoys. The first convoy, consisting of 100 vehicles and carrying 2,215 pilgrims, departed at 3:30 AM for the Baltal base camp. The second convoy, with 135 vehicles and 3,928 pilgrims, left at 4:00 AM for the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp.
Unfortunately, an incident occurred on Sunday when nine pilgrims were injured in a four-vehicle collision in Kulgam district on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. They were transported to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Anantnag, where their condition is reported as stable.
