Reasi Police recently announced two significant breakthroughs: the apprehension of a long-term absconder wanted in three different cases and the resolution of a temple donation box theft with the arrest of the final suspect.
Absconder Arrested After Years on the Run
Acting on a proclamation order from the Hon’ble Munsiff Court, Katra, the Katra Police Station successfully apprehended Gulzar Ahmed, son of Satar Mohd, a resident of Sudhmahadev, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur. Ahmed had been evading arrest for years.
The Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC), Katra, had previously issued arrest warrants against him in connection with three FIRs registered at Police Station Katra:
- FIR No. 239/2014: Under Sections 341/323/382/34 of the RPC (Ranbir Penal Code).
- FIR No. 03/2016: Under Sections 48(a) of the Excise Act and 188 of the RPC.
- FIR No. 47/2019: Under Sections 48(a) of the Excise Act and 188 of the RPC.
After dedicated and persistent efforts, the police team successfully traced and arrested the absconder, who will now be produced before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings.
Temple Theft Case Solved, All Accused Apprehended
In a separate notable achievement, Reasi Police have solved a temple theft incident with the arrest of the third and final accused, Mubarak Mohd, son of Abdul Majid, a resident of Chamba, Katra. The theft involved the breaking and looting of a temple donation box.
Police successfully recovered stolen cash amounting to ₹3,390/- along with a cutter used in the commission of the crime. With Mubarak Mohd’s arrest, all individuals involved in the theft have been brought to justice.
