A total of 599 recruits were inducted into the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday after successfully completing 44 weeks of rigorous training. The passing-out parade and attestation ceremony were held at the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) of the BSF in Humhama, Budgam district.
The recruits, who hailed from various parts of eastern and southern India, showcased their self-confidence, skills, and coordination during the parade. Director General of the BSF Nitin Agrawal, who was the chief guest at the event, lauded the recruits for choosing a career in the BSF and urged them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.
In his address, DG BSF commended the Inspector General, Frontier BSF Kashmir, and the instructional teams for their efforts in transforming the recruits into trained Seema Prahari (border guards) and disciplined jawans (soldiers). He also wished the recruits a bright future in their professional endeavors.
Medals were awarded to the recruits who excelled in various indoor and outdoor training activities during the 44-week program. The parade was commanded by Constable P. Narendra.
The recruits received comprehensive training in handling different types of weapons, firing skills, law, drill, and border management. Additionally, they underwent physical fitness training, field engineering, field craft, tactics, anti-terrorism, counter-insurgency operations, law and order, and human rights.
The passing-out parade was concluded with a captivating brass band show, a South Indian martial arts performance (kalaripayattu), and a rendition of the BSF song by the recruits, leaving the spectators enthralled.
