Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo affirmed the government’s dedication to providing quality education for all students, regardless of background or region. She made this statement at the launch of a cultural tour for 250 schoolchildren to Delhi, Jaipur, and Ajmer under the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Youth Exchange Programme.
The 13-day tour is a joint initiative of the Social Welfare Department and the Union Ministry for Home Affairs. Minister Itoo emphasized the program’s value in exposing young students to the country’s diverse social and cultural landscape.
“This exposure tour is a unique opportunity for EWS students from government schools in remote regions to learn and experience new things, which will benefit them throughout their lives,” she said.
Itoo reiterated the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to quality education for all, especially those from backward classes and remote or rural areas. She stressed the importance of such educational tours in broadening students’ knowledge and fostering holistic development, encouraging the students to document their experiences.
Following the flag-off ceremony, the Minister inspected the buses, assessed the facilities provided for the students, and interacted with them, urging them to maximize the benefits of the tour.
