On Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces provided detailed information regarding “Operation Sindoor,” a precision strike operation conducted to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This operation was a direct response to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.
- Shawai Nallah Camp (Muzaffarabad): An LeT camp identified as the training ground for terrorists responsible for attacks in Sonamarg (October 20, 2024), Gulmarg (October 24, 2024), and Pahalgam (April 22, 2025).
- Syedna Bilal Camp (Muzaffarabad): A JeM staging area described as a “weapon, explosive, and jungle training centre.”
- Gulpur Camp (Kotli): Located 30 km from the Line of Control (LoC), this LeT facility was linked to the Poonch attack on April 20, 2023, and the pilgrimage bus attack on June 9, 2024.
- Barnala Camp (Bhimber): Identified as a centre for weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and jungle survival training.
- Kotli Camp: Situated 13 km from the LoC, this LeT camp was used to train fedayeen (suicide attackers) with a capacity for 15 terrorists.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh elaborated on the strategic rationale behind “Operation Sindoor,” stating it was a direct retaliation for the “horrific Pahalgam terror attack of April 22 to serve justice to the innocent victims and their families.” She confirmed that nine terror camps were targeted and destroyed during the operation.
Singh further revealed that Pakistan has maintained an extensive terror infrastructure for the past three decades, encompassing 21 recruitment, indoctrination, and launch pad centres across Pakistan and PoK. She emphasized the precision of “Operation Sindoor,” stating that the targets were selected based on “credible intelligence inputs” and specifically chosen to avoid damage to civilian infrastructure and loss of civilian lives.
