Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated on Wednesday that armed conflict is undesirable, emphasizing that Pakistan must cease hostilities. He attributed the current tense situation to the killing of 26 people in Pahalgam, which he identified as the initial trigger on April 22nd.
According to the Chief Minister, India’s response was a necessary and measured reaction, targeting terror camps rather than military or civilian sites, following the Pahalgam attack.
He further noted Pakistan’s subsequent targeting of civilian areas. “We desire peace and had a peaceful existence,” he said. “This was initiated by them. While we seek to restore normalcy, Pakistan must first silence its weapons.”
