Union Home Minister Amit Shah concluded his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir by directing security agencies to intensify anti-terror operations. During a security review meeting in Srinagar, he emphasized the need for enhanced surveillance and seamless coordination to eliminate terrorism. Shah credited the Modi government’s multi-pronged security strategy for significantly curbing terror activities.   

Key directives from the meeting included:
  • Further intensification of anti-terror offensives through advanced vigilance.   
  • Strengthening mutual coordination among security agencies.
  • Ensuring the implementation of Area Domination Plan and Zero Terror Plan.
  • Maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.

Shah also reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming Amarnathji Yatra, scheduled from July 3 to August 9, and instructed agencies to ensure a peaceful pilgrimage. The security meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and various security agency heads.  

Separately, Shah chaired a development review meeting, where he highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to building a developed Jammu and Kashmir. He noted the progress made across sectors like power, connectivity, industry, tourism, and agriculture, attributing the advancements to the government’s development and welfare initiatives. He reiterated that the government is working to usher in a new era of prosperity for all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
