Security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday after an exchange of fire with suspected terrorists.
The engagement occurred during a search operation in the Shingpora area of Chhatru, prompted by intelligence reports of terrorist presence.
The White Knight Corps confirmed on X that contact was established with terrorists during a joint operation with police in Chhatru this morning.
Additional troops have been deployed, and the operation is ongoing, aiming to neutralize an estimated two to three terrorists believed to be in the area.
