In a joint operation conducted on Monday, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two individuals and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Kupwara district. The operation, codenamed ‘GUSHI,’ involved establishing a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) at Gushi Bridge in Kupwara.
Acting on specific intelligence, the MVIP team intercepted two suspicious individuals and subjected them to a thorough search. During the search, the team recovered four hand grenades, one pistol with ammunition, and other incriminating materials.
The apprehended individuals are currently under investigation, and further details about the case are expected to be released in due course. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir and prevent the proliferation of illegal arms and ammunition.
