Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha affirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the recent surge of terrorist activity in the Jammu region will be addressed with the same resolve as in Kashmir. He made these remarks at the passing out parade for the 16th Batch of J&K Police Constables at the Manigam Police Training School in Ganderbal.
LG Sinha praised the J&K Police for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting citizens, emphasizing their crucial role in maintaining peace and combating crime. He acknowledged the force’s professionalism and determination, which have garnered national recognition.
While noting the success of the J&K Police, Army, and CAPFs in curbing terrorism in the Kashmir Valley, the Lieutenant Governor expressed concern over the increased terrorist incidents in the Jammu division. He reiterated the determination to make both regions terrorism-free.
The passing out batch comprised 438 recruits, including 86 women, with 211 having previously served as Special Police Officers (SPOs).
LG Sinha underscored the importance of adapting to technological advancements in policing. He urged the J&K Police Force to embrace cutting-edge technology and advanced tools to enhance their operational effectiveness, advocating for data-centric policing to better analyze crime trends and predict patterns.
Extending his congratulations to the new constables, the Lieutenant Governor expressed confidence that their training in professional skills, knowledge, and values would enable them to perform their duties with sensitivity and effectively face future challenges. He commended the Manigam Police Training School for instilling crucial life values such as courage, patience, self-sacrifice, and discipline in the recruits.
Zubair Ahmad Khan, Principal PTS Manigam, provided an overview of the training program. The Lieutenant Governor presided over the ceremonial parade, took the salute, and recognized outstanding recruits. The new constables pledged to perform their duties with dedication and integrity.
