Two Udhampur Teachers Drown in Ramban Flash Floods

A devastating flash flood this morning swept away two government teachers from Udhampur district who were traveling on a motorcycle on the Nathatop–Sanasar road. The incident occurred at Jalebi Morh, where their blue-colored motorcycle (JK-14D/9667) was discovered around 9:30 AM on Wednesday, prompting an immediate search operation.

Police teams, led by SHO Vijay Kotwal and DSP Omparkash (Ramban), along with SDRF personnel, swiftly launched a search downstream. The bodies of the two teachers, identified as Jagdev Singh and Sanjay Kumar, were tragically recovered approximately 150 and 300 meters from the link road where they were overcome by the sudden surge of water.

Both deceased were residents of Ghordi tehsil in Ramnagar, Udhampur district, and served as government teachers. They had been attending a three-day training session at DIET Kud, which commenced on July 29. They were last seen heading towards Sanasar on Tuesday evening, an area that experienced rainfall at the time.

The bodies are currently being transported to Batote Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
